May 24th weekend

Wow! What a great weekend we had this year at Algonquin Woods, the same rustic resort we've spent the last six May 24 wknds. Last year, we almost had snow and didn't even see some people as it was too cold to stay outside for very long. We couldn't even enjoy the campfires last year. This year, we had the best weather ever and the kids spent most of it in the water. We've been camping, cottaging with this group of friends for about 20 years with some people leaving and new people joining every year. This resort has 10 'rustic' cabins at the end of a quiet little lake. Our group was in all 10 cabins. It was a lot of fun.

Check out Isaac's 'ponytail'. I think I've said before that he wants to do everything Ella does...she gets a ponytail, then he wants one too....even cried for it. He loved just filling one of the kayak with sand toys and pulling it back and forth along the water's edge. At Sunday night's campfire, Isaac was really excited to see daddy playing the guitar and singing. He immediately wanted his toy fiddle - which he plays as a guitar. Neil got it for him and he walked straight up to the same spot Neil had been playing and started playing and singing for everyone. I think he started off with B I N G O, and a few Wiggles tunes. He walked around the fire singing at one point and also sang a French song he learned at French Fridays (Ontario Early Years). Everyone clapped and he just loved it. He is definitely going to be an entertainer.

Enjoy the pics.
